A high-mast LED lighting system is a tall pole fitted with a cluster of high-output LED luminaires, used to light large open areas such as airports, seaports, stadiums, rail yards, highway interchanges and parking lots. E-Able Power supplies these as project-configured systems.
High-mast poles are supplied in a wide range of heights and are configured per project, typically covering poles from 10 m to 30 m and built to the required mounting height for the site.
Many high-mast systems use a lifting mechanism that lowers the lamp holder to ground level for maintenance, so lamps can be accessed and cleaned without scaffolding or a mobile crane. Non-lifting fixed poles are maintained by lowering a winch or by accessing the luminaire ring.
High-mast towers use energy-efficient LED high-mast and floodlight luminaires with symmetric or asymmetric optical distributions, higher lumen-per-watt efficacy, and IP-rated housings. The optimum beam angle and mounting height are determined by a lighting simulation for the site.
A high-mast system is typically controlled by a power distribution panel that provides timed, light-sensitive or combined lighting modes, with overload and instantaneous overcurrent protection. Dimmable and smart control options can be specified per project.
